All in all a really nice all rounder for a lazy day out with the Mrs. The only place these fell down compared to the others was when it started to get soft or slushy they just sank. Moguls were very much easier to deal with and general piste work was a lot less tiring. Once I adjusted to the less aggressive turns I got on with them just fine. The downside being I had much much less grip on ice and when pushing on down the world cup runs the first time I found a patch of ice and missed the corner all together. Off the cuff I found them much easier to get ‘back in the saddle’ with than the other 2 and found them much easier to ski all day than either the others. Conditions were nicely granulated with some soft snow to slush on the lower slopes. I took SX11 162cm this trip as the rental shop didn’t have either of the other 2 in and was pleasantly surprised. Really nice, and one I’d consider a keeper. They kept me stable and happy on icy steeps but they’re so rigid moguls were a complete non starter. I rented a set of B5 174cm the week after I’d had a set of SX12 169cm. Its not better than the Dynastar Course 67 or Ski Cross 11, but still a worthy contender. But the SX12 has a lot more tricks, and a broader repertoire. Very fast with great edge grip for experts with no speed limit. Very solid with race-like directional stability. I like the “little bit heavier than most Atomics” feel.Great edge grip and a penchant for “mach schnell,” and this ski loves to “rip” on the toughest trails and doesn’t disappoint. Strong skills are a must to realize all that this one can do.The 16mm of taper angle really serve up VERSATILE. Torsionally VERY strong, so skidding isn’t an issue, unless the skier deliberately releases the edges to dump some of the speed that this ski encourages. The SX12 is in the top 10 with regard to edge hold, without fail. ![]() Redesigned profile with innovative Powerbridge technology, improved sidecut for even greater ski control and precise skiing at high speeds.
